Finally, some new work to post! Below is the long-time-coming front/back cover of TrueLife Church's Square One booklet. Square One introduces new comers to my church (True Life Church) and walks them through our core beliefs and values.
I wanted the image to convey an overall sense of our values, and I felt a good way to do that was by illustrating community, relationships, and personal journeys in action. My original idea wasn't bad, but it was really impersonal; hopefully this will have a more human touch in it that will communicate to readers, even if only subconsciously.
The idea of the walk way was to show that within the TrueLife community, a person isn't pigeon-holed into an pre-defined role; instead, they have the freedom to explore and discover how they fit in to the overall community. Oh...and the purple and red slide is a nod to our current meeting place, Pump It Up, which is an "inflatable party zone" that we convert on Sunday mornings to suit our worship service. The big yellow speech bubble on the left will contain the text that summarizes what Square One is for anyone picking the booklet up for the first time (yet to be written).
Oh, and when you look it, the right half is the front cover, and the left half is the back (imagine opening a magazine and then putting it face-down on a table). Okay! Hope you like it...
